clear water and those warm tropical nights whith the gentle breeze off the <strong>Amdaman Sea<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The nine islands that belong to the Thai national park are located about 60 km offshore from Khao Lak. Due to the improved logistics that have developed over the past years it is now very easy to reach the \u201eSimilans\u201c nowadays. There are speed boats, daily dive and snorkel boats and live-aboards offering their services to go and see these charming islands.<\/p>\n<p>Nobody lives on the islands apart from a few national park rangers, who maintain that paradise. There are also no shops or supermarkets and every thing that is needed on the islands including food is delivered by boats.<\/p>\n<p>The Similan Islands are considered as one of the the top ten diving destinations worldwide and even snorkelling in these fascinating waters is something you will remember for a long time. The underwater flora and fauna offers almost everything that inhabits tropical waters. There are large wildlife to see like rays and sharks and you can also see other creatures from colorful schools of snappers over nudibranches to shrimps. They were formed by rising lava approximately 65 million years ago. Some of the islands have high and steep mountains (244 m). They acquired their present shape through glacial glaciers and the forces of the sea. The rock formations above water are just as bizarre as they are underwater. For diving, they offer gorges and cave passages, as well as shallow reefs with coral gardens.<\/p>\n<p>Slightly north of the Similan Islands are the islands of <strong>Koh Bon<\/strong> and <strong>Koh Tachai<\/strong>, which are also part of the national park.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Surin Islands<\/strong> (Mu Ko Surin) are a small archipelago in the Andaman Sea off the west coast of Thailand, near the border with Myanmar. They belong to Phang Nga Province and are part of the <strong>Mu Ko Surin National Park<\/strong>, established in 1981. The archipelago consists primarily of the two main islands, <strong>Ko Surin Nuea<\/strong> (North Island) and <strong>Ko Surin Tai<\/strong> (South Island), as well as several smaller islands.<\/p>\n<p>The islands are known today primarily for their <strong>intact coral reefs, crystal-clear waters, and rich marine life.<\/strong> They are particularly popular with divers and snorkelers.
